Berlin Global Dialogue (BGD) convened a breakfast discussion with Martin Blessing, Personal Envoy for Investments of the German Chancellor. The event took place on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, and brought together a select group of 15 business leaders and partners of the BGD community.
The conversation focused on the conditions needed for enhancing Germany’s competitiveness and strategies for positioning it as a leading destination for investment in an increasingly competitive global economy. Participants highlighted the country’s enduring strengths - including its highly skilled workforce, strong institutions, an advanced industrial base, and democratic values - as key foundations for long-term growth and prosperity.
Another key point of discussion was the need to communicate these advantages more effectively to investors globally, while sustaining continued reform efforts and removing obstacles to attracting investment.
The roundtable provided a valuable opportunity for dialogue ahead of the fourth edition of Berlin Global Dialogue, taking place on 20–22 October 2026, where leaders from business, policymaking, and academia will continue the conversation on advancing alliances for the new era. The annual summit will be preceded by the Invest in Germany Summit, which will be organized by Martin Blessing, on October 20, 2026.
